Parent and Child - Learn how to safely work with your child in the water, including how to appropriately support and hold your child in the water and how to prepare and encourage your child to participate fully and try the skills. In addition, you are introduced to several water safety topics. Your child receives an introduction to basic skills that lay a foundation for learning to swim.
Age groups 12 and under will be utilizing the new international guidelines for court size and balls. “Quick Start” Tennis ensures a more enjoyable introduction to the game through age appropriate equipment and court dimensions. Parents are encouraged to come to class and learn alongside their children in order to help them beyond the lessons. All members will receive a 25% discount on registration fee.
Soccer isn't just for big kids. It's great for little soccer stars, too! Participants will learn basic soccer skills as well as learn about teamwork and sportsmanship.
This class is specifically designed for little ones to give them the opportunity to learn basic baseball skills. Your child will learn the basics of ball throwing, batting, catching, and base running. Don't forget about having fun and learning about teamwork. So let's PLAY BALL!
Experience a sampling of what recreation has to offer! Our awesome staff will provide a variety of fun activities for your little one. Bring a sack lunch and, of course, your friends. Please remember, children must be accompanied by an adult.Bring your best friend "Teddy" to the Community Center for a Teddy Bear Picnic. Activities will include face painting, craft making, bounce house jumping, and Teddy Bear fun!
Level 1 - Introduction to basic skills as the foundation for future skills and the development of water competency (the basic minimum skills needed for water safety). It is common for children to participate in several sessions of Level 1 before they successfully demonstrate each skill. Milestones:o Entering the water independently using the ramp, steps or side.o Traveling at least 5 yards, bobbing 5 times and then safely exiting the water. o Opening eyes underwater and retrieving submerged object.o Gliding on front with assistance at least 2 body lengths. o Rolling to a back float for 5 seconds with assistance.o Recovering to a vertical position with assistance.o Combined arm and leg actions on front and back with assistance.o Alternating and simultaneous arm and leg actions on front and back with assistance.
